Carnotaurus is a theropod dinosaur that appears in the Jurassic Park franchise. Its first appearance was in the 1995 Michael Crichton novel The Lost World, the sequel to Crichton's Jurassic Park novel from 1990. It would later make its first ever film appearance in 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom before reappearing in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Jurassic World Dominion.
History[]
Creation[]
Carnotaurus were cloned by InGen scientists on the InGen compound in Isla Sorna, an island 207 miles west of Costa Rica. They were supposed to be attractions on Isla Nublar's Jurassic Park zoo, but they were never transferred to Nublar.
Jurassic World[]
Although Carnotaurus did not appear in the film, it was one of the dinosaurs used to create the genetic hybrid Indominus rex.
