I don't know if its a demon or a devil, or just some hungry thing from some dark place and time.

The Creeper is the main antagonist of the 2001 horror film Jeepers Creepers and its 2003 and 2017 sequels. It is a an ancient man-eating monster who feeds on people for 23 days every 23rd spring. It was portrayed by Jonathan Breck.

Appearance[]

"It eats lungs so it can breathe, and eyes so it can see. It all becomes a part of it. Whatever it eats, becomes a part of it." - Jezelle Hartman

The Creeper appears to be a man-sized creature with greenish dark skin, long wispy white hair, gray eyes, and sharp teeth. In the first film, it wears shoes. and after Darry Jenner is taken by the Creeper, his brown eyes become a part of it.

In the second film, it is shown to have talons instead of shoes. In the recent Jeepers Creepers 3, it is shown to have shoes just like the first film.

History[]

The Creeper's origin stories have remained a mystery since the events of the first movie. In Jeepers Creepers 2, it is implied that the Creeper is more a thousand years old and has preyed upon human flesh since Biblical times.

Jeepers Creepers[]

Siblings Trish and Darry Jenner are travelling home from college in their 1960 Chevrolet Impala for spring break. They drive through the North Central Florida countryside, when suddenly, an old-fashioned rusty delivery truck with a license plate that reads "BEATNGU" attempts to run them off the road. After allowing the truck to pass them, they later see the same vehicle parked next to an old, abandoned church with the mysterious driver, who appears to be a tall man sliding what appears to be bodies wrapped in sheets into a large sewer pipe sticking out of the ground.

The Creeper's Truck

The truck that the Creeper drives is a rusty 1941 Chevrolet Heavy-Duty COE (Cab Over Engine) delivery truck with a cattle catcher on the front, which he uses to transport both living and dead bodies to a cave underneath an abandoned church via a large sewer pipe.

Trivia[]

  • It does speak in a deleted scene of the first Jeepers Creepers, so this makes it obvious that it is, in fact, intelligent. It has an old west style accent, so this hints at maybe some origin.
