"Beauty killed the beast!" - Carl Denham commenting on Kong's death

Kongskullisland

King Kong from Kong: Skull Island (2017), loosely based on the 1933 Willis O'Brien design

King Kong was the last of his kind which lived with the dinosaurs and tribesmen of Skull Island in the Indian Ocean. He has been featured in numerous iconic monster films including King Kong (1933), The Son of Kong (1933), Edo ni arawareta Kingu Kongu: Henge no maki (1938), King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), King Kong Escapes (1967), King Kong (1976), King Kong Lives (1986), King Kong (2005) and Kong: Skull Island (2017).

With his brute strength and sheer size almost matching that of the dinosaurs, the natives often sacrificed their woman to him.

King Kong (1933)[]

When the humans arrived from New York to explore the mysterious island, an attractive woman named Ann came with the men, and soon she was caught by the islanders and sacrificed her. Instead of eating her, he takes her back to his lair and becomes fond of her. Kong even saves her from a Pteranodon which almost killed her.

The Mighty Kong

Later after the crewmen manage to knock out Kong, they put him on their ship and take him back to New York where they display him to the curious public. Kong manages to break free and run through the city taking Ann he likes. Kong manages to climb up the Empire State Building with Ann in his hand. He reaches the top of the building and puts Ann safely on a ledge. Suddenly a group of fighter planes arrive and attack. Kong manages to destroy one of the planes, but the planes open fire on him. After taking a barrage of bullets, Kong finally collapses and falls to his death in the streets below.
